National Pet Month runs from1st April – 7th May 2018 promoting awareness of responsible pet ownership. This great awareness month stirs animal lovers into action all over the UK - so why not get involved? Here are half a dozen ideas to put you in the mood….
Help fundraise for your favourite animal charity.Pack bags at your nearest supermarket in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind; offer your services for the day at the local donkey sanctuary (www.the donkeysanctuary.org.uk) or volunteer to shake a collecting tin for the RSPCA for a couple of hours.
Get some friends together and organize a dog walk around your favourite landmark. Make it as big or small event as you wish! Get out and get fresh air and enjoy what spring has on offer. Collect a small donation and donate to your favourite cause.
Sign up your pooch for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme. You can work your way through the levels or simply learn some basics by achieving your bronze level. Fun way of doing something meaningful with your four-legged friend.
Buy a can of cat or dog food each time you shop during National Pet Month and donate them to your local animal sanctuary.
Switch your skin or bathroom products to a brand that doesn’t test on animals
